Alexandra Rivero

What used to be amusement, soon turned into a future career. Being raised in a household full of nurses, my passion for the medical field, as well as animals, sparked early in life. In middle school, I experimented with a mobile app; Superimpose, or Photoshop. After several times of practicing with editing, I realized how good I had become. My imperfections were fixed after nearly two years, I enrolled into a high school magnet based on these programs. I was skeptical of the school, but quickly fell in love. Little did I realize this program would benefit my future major.

In the first eight months of being in this school, I was already certified in Adobe Illustrator and IC3. My class was taught how to illustrate, 3D design, and edit images. I became very skilled at creating my own designs. I also took two Anatomy classes and rapidly started rediscovering how interested I was with physiology. After learning this, it kicked in how much I wanted to become a veterinarian. This high school program was opening the doors to different fields of study.

To fulfill my intentions, right after high school, I’m on my way to college to earn my bachelor’s degree. To follow will be my Masters in Medicine or Animal Science.
